View Full Version : tactics for papercourt carp
any ideas on carping at papercourt?
do the carp respond to heavy baiting with particles/boilies etc
or are they wary of such tactics
any useful advice welcome; such as do they follow the wind
also does anyone know the head of fish present
All I can say is good luck because I fished the water at the start of the season and it is like sea fishing with all the boats but I recommend a heavy baiting with Active-8 and just prey that you find 1 of about 150 carp in the lake and don't fish alone because you will get so board and it is better to spread out the work of baiting if I was you I would pick three swims and work on them fish the two pylon swims I had a 8lb 8oz tench from the far pylon swim but it was worth the wait.
good luck!!!
thanks for that alex
Ive heard the boats can be a pain in the proverbial, so i was thinking of backleading but being so weedy I'm not so sure anyone one got any ideas?
Buy a submarine and go boat hunting....... back leading is not a good idea there as it can be real weedy, only back lead if there are boats giving you bother or fish the margins.
Tony
thats what I thought . Thanks scorpio. I was up there yesterday and the whole lake ,save an area by the far pylon was frozen over, cant wait for the warmer weather.
cheers

i fished there a few years ago when the 30 was meant to be in there but had gone walkabouts.yes it's boring.i walked for a bit, generally finding them in the edge(except the biggie)choose your spot & cast out on dusk, then go home in the morning.this aviods most dog walkers & boats!the only good thing was the fish & chippie nearby.my only fish in 6 nights came from the pontoons using mixed boillies(favourite on hook)before i moved on, as the sailor boys tried to wreck thier boats on shallow bars near where i was positioned, thinking i had lines in the water!the place is definatelly earrie at night, but good luck
cheers mate
someone told me the biggie was named the traveller & that he or she had indeed died.
it also seems from these posts and guys on the banks that the sailors dont like us and frequently smash ,or at least try to, us up on purpose.I have only been fishing there since sept 2000 and the sailing club has been closed
thanks again see you all there throughout the year hopefully
I was thinking of giving carp company winter & ice reds ago anyone think these work, or would I be better on the already successful activ8 ?
KEEP IT BRITISH
PAUL
I tried both and had a take on both but the Activ-8 was in open water so that suggested to me that Activ was the better and also one of the baliffs told me.
In my opinon I would try long term baiting with both.
Good luck.
