p eye do you come from norfolk. If so where abouts, do you know where the iccdent happened in norfolk where the boy had is tackle stolen from, i come form norfolk and this news is new to me, there has been a few cases over the years but it is nothing like what it is down here in the south, there is one great problem, if you where to carry a baseball bat or a piece of 2" / 4" and use it on one of these scum then you would be the one getting done by the law, its a great problem, these scum seem to have the law on there side, no matter what the honest people out there think, we pay for them in our taxes.----------As for mobile partrols beware that people get betten up and done over even if they are only doing there job, cctv is a step forward but it is too expensive, a good secure site is anouther way to keep people out or in, a one or two way in property is better than somewhere where you can get in anywhere. Trees fences natural fences/ deep ditches help, if they want it, it still does not matter how good the security is they will get it.what can we do to stop it, all of this would never had happened years ago, why is that then, will think about, respect is a great deal, money, gread, power, jeluesoly envy, drugs some people go to know ends to supply there habit, the cost of living is too much, when you anlise it there is too many parameters to try and sort out, it is all part of today soicity and people have come to accept it as part of it, if there was more respect for the police and the courts where more stict then that would stop some of it, bring back Disspline the cane would stop some of it in school, five of the best sorts out most problems, if then you go home and complain about being punishied for doing wrong you get some more, the belt.-----Respect--discipline----- control------more respect----less greed---power trips----control-- understanding-----.Think i went of on one sorry lads- horse

If the kids are the problem then they need to be tought respect there enviroment, tought how to fish and maybe they will catch a few, once they have caught a few then they might get into fishing proplely.

As for a sercurity scheme go for it, if the fish stealling problem is so great and the fisheriers owners are awhere of it then you could get a scheme going with a few fisheries to patrol the banks from early evening to throughout the night once you have got things started then you could get more people invloved.

Being an excopper helps a great deal you are in the know with the laws so go for it my son, get in contact witht the owners of a few fisheriers that are close togehter and see if they are willing to pay for the service of having people walk around there lake at night and during the day even, kids normally stop playing up once they realise that they are being watched, but it moves the problem else where into the night.Big brother is sometimes needed to watch all the time, and unless you can give the owners a good enough reason to why they need you to go around their water in the night and day you still have to convince them, am sold think that a company of baliff going around waters during strange hours to protect them is a great idea, just got to convince a few fisheriers owners first, you need some proof of what is going on at these venues and take that to the owners and say that if you had scerurity team on the lake then it would stop it, the owners sometimes need a little shaking to perswade them into the think that it might be a good idea, also cost, being a money drive industry that it has been turned into how much is your service going to cost them, thats the first thing they are going to want to know how much out of there pocket is it going to cost them, and once they have payed there money to you they are going to want to see something for it.

ps nelsons pit / Gunton/ trimingham/grimingham the lake at roughton behind the petrol station where was it that the iccendent happened.--------regards horse

I think that it is a great idea and i hope it all goes ahead for you really, i know that gimmingham has down quite a few twenties but is there anything bigger in there now, also many of the lake in norfolk hold leany fish,i know a water that has them in and it does not get fished really hard it see a bit of pressure in the start of the season then it drops off there is three lake on the complex and all hold carp but very few people fish for them, shame really, as you say fish get nicked i know another water that used to hold a large head of big tench they all went missing i fished it form years and only ever had a few tench out largest being 6lb i have seen only one other fish of that size come out in 6 years of fishing the water, i also belive that the big mirror that was in the water went missing as well, just waiting for a photo to turn up, the fish was around the mid thirty mark, the water in question is in the middle of know where and you could hand feed it in the close season but come the season you would see it swimming about but never catch it, there was a large common as well never saw the bank either of them.It goes on everywhere shame that people cant respect what they have around them and not get involved in greed.
What other waters have you fished in norfolk, get registered on the site and then we can talk over the private messaging system.
