My Doris has decided she wants to give fishing a go this coming Bank Holiday. Hence she has bought a rod licence and wants me to take her somewhere.
Anyone got any ideas? I was thinking of giving Tri-Lakes a bash, or somewhere similar. I live in Woking so Willinghurst and Old Bury Hill are options, but I want to try and keep the cost down. Otherwise I'd take her to Gold Valley, where she'd be guaranteed to pick up some Carp.
All help is appreciated.
p.s. I have toyed with taking her to a really difficult venue to try and put her off, but knowing her she'd probably catch.
Go to the match lake or the blue pool at Burghfield... full of fish there and a nice place as well. Click on the links below for more information

Can you get day tickets for these waters, I only have the group ticket and Yateley ticket.
What about Pumphouse or Horseshoe on the Yateley complex ? Always guaranteed a few fish from either lake.

Just sorted out my weekend, I've discovered the owner of a secret water I used to fish as a lad. After fifteen years he remembered me and gave me the go ahead to fish it.
Rumoured to have double figure Tench, Chub to 7lb and lots of Trout from the adjacent river.
It's only small but is full of natural food, an old ox bow lake.
he said "be careful as it's very overgrown as no one fishes it anymore."
I can't wait.

I'll have to see how it goes. But if I do they will have to be taken there blindfolded and bound, just in case.
The guy used to let a club fish it about ten years ago, but he had litter problems so now it is very limited. He will probably go around the lake on Sunday to see if I leave anything, but there's no chance of that.

It's from the time I spent on a Kibbutz in Israel, it's Hebrew for Son Of A Female Dog. It has a nice ring about it, don't you think?
Has anybody fished the Lakes at HMS Dryad near Portsmouth recently, they were Navy run and again had some cracking fish in them. The only problem was you had to regularly duck the golf balls run the matlows playing on the nearby course.
