I'm not asking much but......with a little bit of jiggery pokery, if the 'main index' page was slightly condensed & fitted on a 800x600 resolution display, this would make the site a lot nicer to use (if only for me!).
The way I see it, most people who have an 800x600 display may not even know that there is a 'for sale' section, without scrolling downwards...if you catch my drift.

Hi Sim0n,

The thing is, there is so much to say we can't fit it into an 8*6 res. setting !!! /images/forum/icons/smile.gif

It does actually fit (even on a 640*480), though is somewhat 'condensed'.... What would you suggest we do ?

I can't see this forum getting any smaller (in fact, quite the opposite), so if anything we will need to add more boards... !

If people don't know how to use a scroll bar, the only thing we can do is point them in the direction by telling them to use it !

If you want to change your setting read below:

1). Right click on your Desktop (Win users only)
2). Select Properties
3). Select the "Settings" tab
4). Under "Screen Area" move the button to the right (more).

This should increase your screen settings so that you can view at a higher resolution !

Any problems or more suggestions, please let me know.

ATB,

Bill.

Billyo,
Yup, I know how to change settings etc...I'm thinking of the average user who logs on, to make life a little more pretty. I was thinking maybe reducing the top 'RMC Angling' 'welcome' banner, or putting the 'RMC Home' & 'Venues' links across the top or bottom of the page maybe to increase the space available for the more important stuff.
Anyway, just throwing a few ideas into the melting pot for you guys to munch on, I'm sure this may trigger an even better suggestion from someone else....that's what it's all abaout.
Regards.

Hi Sim0n,

I thought you meant the Forum pages (Angling Lines)... as you metioned the For Sale section and this only shows on the forum...

Placing the 'RMC Home& Venues' link on the footer of each page could be done quite easily...but the venues link is a VERY important one and without this, the site would not be here !

I'll have a chat to Ian (boss) about your suggestions (he may even drop a line here), but if you have anymore, please let us know. As you say, we can only improve the site with all of your comments...

ATB,

Bill.
