South Lake stock

Ive been fishing the South Lake on and off for quite a while now but I’ve never really found out how well stocked it is and what the largest carp in there is. Going to be fishing there in a few weeks so can anyone tell me roughly how many carp are in the lake, ratio of commons to mirrors, largest fish etc?

Would be really helpful, thanks!

Roughly 700 carp in 8 acres, biggest to date 30lb+.
Ratio's who knows. Average size upper double, plenty of 20's though.

Cheers lads, that’s what I wanted to know. Changed my session to this Friday so hopefully will have something out (even with the cold weather and high pressure…. just my effin luck!)

think it would the usual 'find em' b4 you set up, apart from that speak to the shop see if they got any idea's or news !!

ta mate - hope it was helpful.

Fished friday to saturday and had sweet F.A, apart from a shopping trolley which I managed to drag in from just in front of The Short Chuck (3). It had a million rigs, leads and lures on it and weighing in at about 45lbs, it was a smashing PB http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif

It was effing cold though - so im not suprised nothing came out....
