Ian, you are probably aware that the North Lake is suffering from horrendous amounts of floating weed over much of the surface this year, making some swims pratically unfishable.Several of us regulars were discusing this yesterday and would like to take the boat out in an attempt to clear some of this floating scum away. We have the boat and we have life jackets but i don't want to do anything without authorisation. Also if you do agree to this we obviously will not go ahead without the support of the anglers fishing on the day we clear the weed. I wouldn't want to spoil anyones days fishing.
Speak to you soon

Thanks Ian

I fished the North last night and the lads said that you were there for a walk round on Sunday, do you know yet when the weed clearing will take place, and having seen the thousands of tons of "snot" on the surface do you any idea how long it will take ??
Cheers, Nigel

Any news on this yet ? Paul told me that it was going to probably be done yesterday - did it happen ?
Hi Ian, I was down on the North last Wednesday when the lads came to do the netting, even gave them a hand, they managed to do one netfull before calling it a day and said that they would be back to give it another go, do you know if this is the case or are we going to leave it as it is ?? Cheers, Nige.

Ian, nobody else has been down to clear any more of the slimy sludgy weed. Out of the 18 swims, the following are now unfishable (just come back after a few days down there) - Bazil's Bush, Mouth of the Bay, End Works, Freezing, Corral, Waiting Man's, Christmas Tree, Islands and some are one rod only really (safely)- Little Point, Destiny. Little wonder that not so much has been out this year. Are there any serious plans to clear any of this sludge before it all sinks to the bottom and what plans are in place to prevent it happening next year ?

I hope to return down there at some time although I'm in the office due to holidays until the end of the week and then we shall see what happens from there. Bear with us on this one as there are numerous other things that keep coming up ! Hopefully see you down there in the next few weeks.
Viv
ViV,
You promised (although in a drunken slur) at the E.C.H.O meeting to clear a couple of nice swims for me and bait it up, what happened !!!!!!!!
