View Full Version : Where has you all gone
Bit slow on this site , so ill start it off again . Sort of forum , on diffrent subjects , as I still have not be able to go due to work , and a new cottage to sort out . First , bait rolling companys , who uses them and which have given good/bad service .Main lines , thinking of having a go with the new duo in 14lb ,any comments ? .M Tech bait , any one using this ? . Many years ago , I used a top bait , and the flavor was Sickly Butter , cault fish from many waters , including savay , but any one know where you can get it now ? .Keep it real , my personal best is not my best fish !!!. That was a fish from Savay on a day ticket . You wont change peoples minds on fishing for imports , as people fish for pleasure ,and to catch fish . Whos personal best fish is not ther best fish ? Start the ball rolling .

hatter,
Most of the carp lads are on a social at Yately, so you will have to wait until Sunday to have chat.
DT's have rolled all my bait for the last five years and I cannot fault them.
M-Tech is a great bait, but there others, see passed posts.
I use 12lb duo and it seems OK, will need to give it a few more weeks.
I dont want to change anyones mind about fishing for imports, as I dont think it will make an ozs. of difference.
But I would like everyone to know the dangers of moving fish from water to water, be it from abroad or within this country.
And my best fish is a 7lb 2ozs. Eel, which took 1200 rod hour to catch and I consider the most difficult.

Hiya Mark, how's it going mate? With regards baiting companies i have only used Chiltern and they were fantastic.I believe you like myself use Essential Baits. You probably know this but Mike has a bait roller and you just ring up and order rolled bait directly from him.For pop ups Mike used to send me paste from the batch of boilies but now you just buy a bag of his hookbait mix which has all the powdered attractors already in but it has added egg albumin to make a harder hookbait. Pukka mate.Hope you get down to Kingsmead or Wraysbury 2 soon. We must meet up for a days fishing later this year. I'll speak to you soon
Paul
P.S.
My most memorable capture like yourself is not my biggest fish but the pretty one from the Copse at Yateley as i struggled like f**k to catch it and when it went in the net the feeling was unbelievable
Hi Paul , yes we must get out soon .Fish that are not the bigest but have a greater meaning ! . Vauxhall fish from the late 70s / early 80s ?, before the into of more fish . the big browns fish we both had, that I think is now in Linch hill . Myself , Savay , obviosly , and the fish from pit 3 . Incredible fight , thought it must be a wacker !!! , but" only "weighed 20lb.When we got it on the mat we see it had three tail lobes ! . Just like a giant fantail ! . Anyone on site seen this fish ?. Had it in the early eightys. How about bait shapes then ? .If you remember Paul , I had quite a few fish from oxford on Broard beans. Not used much now , but imagin the trouble ejecting that shape . Alan Taylor , and I , noticed that you had a far greater chance of hooking fish if you could get them to pick up a multipull bait rig , or cylinder shaped baits.
My personal best fish was my huge roach but my best catch was a 14lb rainbow trout which had been in a stocked water for over 3 years. It was a known fish been seen and never caght, almost a ledgend. I got the blighter though. I took me over 2 years to catch it. I was supposed to kill it but put it back.
