I'm fishing South Lake next week. Anyone know if much has been coming out?
I've been hearing a lot about 'Tails Up' baits. Are they all they are cracked up to be or no better than say Nash or Hutchy baits. I've always had the opinion that most baits will work if the fish come across them. Presentation and location are more important. Come on guys, tell me what you think!

I've only fished it a handful of times but Nutrabaits Cream Cajouser have always seemed to do the business on there. As you say location & presentation are more important and any bait in the right place should work for you.

Yeah, I've read and contributed to that. I was really wondering if anybody had any experience of this Tails Up stuff.
Does anybody know the latest situation with the car park swims?

Tails up, get on it,good bait,good service,deals available,nice rods,nets,bivvys and s/bags.
Bait is rolled well and does not split when sticked out.
Only one gripe, could not get on with the popups, make your own. ( mix base of your choice with nutrabaits popup mix and pan fry, pukka )

That's good to hear Ian. Do you think that this will be in effect for this Monday? (I'm fishing there then). I'm personally not too bothered about fishing those swims myself but if somebody is it will at least push some of the fish out into the rest of the lake. Sounds dramatic but last time I was there (2 - 3 weeks ago) it was incredible the amount of fish holed up in that swim totally unaccessable. Like sardines in a tin.

Just got back after fishing Sunday night and Monday night. I had three takes from the Boss, landing a 12lb Common and losing 2. My mate had one take which took him through the snags. While we were there only one other fish was caught, a low double from Willow Beach.
Car Park swims are still closed off to the normal angler (disabled only) and there are still hundreds of fish in those swims. A few ventured round the islands at night which is when we had our takes. Talking to the bailiffs it seems that this may be a permanent thing. It is making the lake markedly more difficult because the majority of the fish just aren't moving out of the car park. Good to see that the bailiffs can still cast across to there!
Why can't these swims be for general fishing and reserved when a disabled angler has a ticket. As day tickets are pre-booked on this water surely it wouldn't be that difficult to do. At least then it would give everyone a fair crack of the whip.
