Jim,
Cant be that bad, I heard you went Pike fishing the other week and didn't the Fen do a 30+ fish.
It's an even longer wait for Eel fishing to start.
Good Luck

Dan - not even the warm weather will tempt a carp from the Thames onto your hook!!!!
However fishing without your hands falling off through frostbite would be nice!!
(Got an early night last night then mate???)
as you say dan you got to be init to win it ,there all hard ern't at this time of year ,when the water warms up, us that are there will be on them first ,but come on spring time can't wait to see you

Jim,
No I dont think so, as I have not fished Wraysbury since the big Tench days.
We might have met at Horton, If not I look forward to meeting up at the Fen this year.

Pioneer,
A fish in double figures would be a fish of a life time, there has only been one caught over 11lbs and that by a carp angler by mistake.

What is this all about then??? Too cold!!! Too cold my A**E. I did an overnighter last night, Thursday/Friday, used precisely 14 1/2 baits and had four beautiful fifty year old leneys, a hook pull and a sodding great slab!! It was about -7 C with the wind chill and I was only on me puddle for less than 11 hours. All you need is enough scotch inside you, leave your brain at home and a bit of confidence & hey presto!! (It was ' king freezing I will admit). DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE, GET OUT THERE AND 'AVE IT!!! Have fun.

P.S. Does anybody know a good shrink?
