View Full Version : record of sandhurst fish over 25lb
As part of an ongoing project this year we intend to document all the 25lb+ fish in sandhurst with a view to eventually producing a website section showing all these fish along with capture details each time they are caught.
To this end - if anyone has a report of a 25lb+ fish from sandhurst can you please either add it to this thread (which i will get Billy to pin to the top) or pm me. As much detail as possible would be appreciated with the weight/swim/date/time the key information we are trying to collate. It would also be very useful if you have a photograph.
Thanks...
I'll add something to the Sandy venue page too Funky.
Bill.

I've seen several people using them myself so I presume that it is Ok for them to be used on this venue, as long as you take the common sense approach and don't cross over other anglers swims

Been off the RMC seen for a while since...well we won't go into that!
Anyway, nice to see the fish I caught a few years ago is now the lake record!
When I caught "Perrys fish" as it was named it was with a big thanks to Viv as Viv turned up to fish and nearly did in the swim I was casting to but as there were only 3 swims available he went somewhere else!
Not sure I like the new name so much....
I shall be down Sandhurst again soon so hopefully....well one can dream!

friendly linear 35 from the pipes(31) to a day ticket angler
could there be a section for pics of all the sandhurst fish over 25lb???
Thats a good idea.
I think it would be good if we could have a page of photographs of sandhurst fish over 25lb or named fish. This would be good and a easy way for the day ticket angler to identify named fish. As i believe sandhurst has a lot of named fish now. Ive seen named fish in carp talk but no mention of the name can you imagine shoulders out of horton appearing in carp talk as just a 40lb mirror. It wouldnt happen.
Come on RMC let us know is this possible?
Also one thirty to report at 33lb 10oz to Dean Windsor on the 19th april. Lovely mirror looked a bit like niges fish on the flank but the tail was more like crackers. It had a right hoover of a mouth with the upper lip protruding over the bottom.

Me and a couple of mates are going down tommrrow for the week.
Should be able to catch a few hopefully. http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
well i was hoping for the first sandhurst 40 but ill just have to have the second one. Well done to the angler concerned. Now the big common must be aproaching 40. I think this is the first of many, im predicting 3 or 4 40s by the end of 2005.
Im going down for the week from tommorrow glad to hear its fishing well. Once again well done on Cracker.
Came out at 40.02 got loads of pics too.

24 hrs £10
24hr 3rd rod £5
+they are going up soon !
30lb common friday daytime peg 8 i believe. I think it was the only fish out on friday daytime.
Cracker out again yesterday at 40.04
Dont that old girl much - how many captures this year Funky?
>10
Lewis
cracker has been out four times this year 38+ 39+ then twice over 40.
not that much IMO , it is silly season mate! http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif
BTW i think niges fish and friendly linear have both been out 4 times as well.
cracker was out twice at 38+....so that's 5....friendly has been out 5 times now and nige's fish 4 times....rosie 3 times, polo 3 times.....the stunning dropscale linear (now 28) has been out twice in the last week - they're all at it.....
Out of the 5 times cracker has been out 4 times have been in the about the last five weeks though. 29th march 38lb8oz, roughly two weeks later at 38lb 14oz then sun 1st may 40lb 2oz then sunday 08may 40lb 4oz. I think the first time this year cracker was out was about 2 months before the 38lb 8oz capture at 39lb 4oz.

sean ,
steve harris had her (well done geeza),i think it was this one
http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/images/fishy_pics/thumbs/sandhurst14_100.jpg
and not polo, this one
http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/images/fishy_pics/thumbs/sandhurst13_100.jpg
Hi Sean
It was the 1 I had @ 30.07 back in September 04 circle type scale on wrist of tail and a lot of tiny scales all over flank
Nice fish got some good pic's for Steve as I was in next swim to him
bodders - so it was the one with the three scales on the flank...? in which case it is polo - if it was the other fish with the one big scale on the flank - that's an as yet unnamed fish i think...
here are the pics of the fish Dave is talking about -
bodders fish RHS (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v490/jaminsk1/dave%20bodman/IMG_0096.jpg)
bodders fish LHS (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v490/jaminsk1/dave%20bodman/CNV00034.jpg)
the photo's definitely don't do this fish justice!
I caught a fish very similar to that one about 3/4 years ago at the first forum social on Sandy, it was 21lb something, tiny little pin scales dotted all on its higher back... Could be the same, i'll have to check my pic.

So what happened to the sutton fish that were put in to Sandy? how are they getting on?
The other are growing very quickly, but still look in good nick, good work by all concerned.
Thats the one for sure http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
in good condition and getting ready to spawn by the look of the amount of milk it put all over steves mat
Hope they turn out as well as the frist stocking of fishers did - the scaley beasts like the one on the Bodders links.... http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Any idea which fish the 39 was?

Coops - what sutton fish or have some been added since I left????
The one in Bodders link is a FP fish - not tooo ugly really !!!!
Although the pearly scales make me think its one I stocked from Sparsholt college some years ago at mid doubles ! Will check my piccys sometime!

Your an enthusiast not an expert Coops.... LMFAO
Viv / Ian the fish in bodders link is the same one Ian the baker is holding on the venue pics board at 23.6. maybe a bit late for the sparsholt stocking?
also how about the light golden coloured common's are they fp's or the dungey lot? there are about 10 over 30 now http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif
Just like Niges' fish (stop it Lew) was a hand selected Sparsholt fish.
Original cricket bat commons, ex-Nursery fish, Fishers Pond and sparsholt selecties and a couple of mirrors that have 'wandered' over there over the years.
Cash
At least some were dungies I'm sure - I remember the sparsholt lads taking them down from Horton. ne had no pelvics I seem to remember.
was tyson from the radar pit?

Many thanks to Dave ,M on advice.I fished The Pipes 25-27-5-05 broke my pb's mirror 29.12 and common 24.4 Well happy
Ian,
I'm pretty sure that some denge fish went into sandy as there were some being kept in holding tanks at horton when i was doing work experience there a few years ago. I seem to remember a linear with only half a tail lobe (very distinctive) along with a few 20+ commons and some of those cracking 'purple' mirrors if my memory serves me correct...
I think this was the same year that Tyson was introduced although might be wrong on that.
Hope this helps,
Sam
Friendly Linear out yesterday from the car park swim.

lol sorry mate, you are right though coffee or Stella only in my swim. I did expect to see you walking the banks with your hound, are you sure that wasnt you sitting in the bushes with the 12 bore looking out for bait boats http://www.cemexangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif you will be pleased to know Sandy has been free from them all week.
Mick barnes
30-09-2005, 22:52
No walking round for the last couple of months mate, the bailiffs seem to get intimidated by it http://www.cemexangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/smirk.gif I tend to do a few weeks on a water then move to another, keeps the hound interested. I can handle coffee and the stella as I wasn't fishing. When you down next?
Not for a while mate, got to get back on with trying to winkle some out of my syndicate water. Maybe catch up with you at one of the shows if your around
another 32+ common (different fish) also came out of Sandy last night in the swim next to mine.
the 34 confirmed as Nige's fish

That little site of yours will be expanding very quickly i think, good work mate.
Hi Sean, just sent a shot to the website address.
Very nice site - well done!
Pete
That drop scale linear is original as is the big common that has not been out for a while. I had them in 1995/6 at 21.04 and 21.14 both were lake records at the time. I have some old pics somewhere of Niges at 14lb and Cracker at 10lbish.
cheers tefal - if you can send any pics to the email address sandhurst@boxfish.co.uk it would be much appreciated.
All pics received up on site now - including a picture from Cracker's latest visit to the bank. Thanks all....
I fished sandy at the weekend,.it was packed, had 5,lost 1,1 x 26.3 common,1 x 26.11 mirror think it was gap linear at near top weight.

Ive just spoken to dave,he had 9 last nite not 8,he now thinks the 35+ could be nige,s fish
That 28.14 that Jamie had in the gallery is also an original fish.
