damn sure i posted this about an hour ago but maybe i am merely going insane - believe me not that unlikely - but on the off chance there is something in this the mods don't like maybe they can tell me....

a new 30 was caught from sandhurst on sunday 28th december. Fishing from the island, Ricky from Godalming had only been there a couple of hours when he landed the fish at 32lb 4oz. Successful tactics were fishing in a silt gulley at about 70 yards over a kilo of the new mainline fusion boilies. This is the first of the FP stockies known to have gone 30+ so bodes well for the future...cracking fish too - i have photos and will send them over to Billy shortly so should be up here soon.

6 or 7 definites now depending on who you talk to - there's the Big linear (around 31 last time out - interestingly this time last year to Ricky's brother!), the Half Linear (just over 30), the Big Common (estimated at 34-35 when last seen), another common just over 30, Tyson of course and the new one. There's also another mirror (the "grey fish", apparently v. sparsely scaled) that has apparently been seen but not caught and looks around 32-33...

Personally I think there may be about 10 30s now going on the growth rates we're seeing and some of the upper 20s out over the summer.

That is a top result, although word is that the fish was Tyson. Pics will say for sure. However Sandy's coming on leaps and bounds, the amount of 20+ fish in there now must be staggering.

Is that a Fishers Pond fish ?? looks too interesting to be FP,looks more like a sutton/sparsholt style strain doesn't it ????? or the holiday fish on another vacation http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/grin.gif

certainly good news though http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

seems to be a fair number of good looking FP fish in Sandy to be honest....i've had 3 or 4 stunning linears this year....not all FP fish are round and ugly.... http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Once these fish get to 25lbish they really blossom. Very similar looking to some of the fish in my syndicate lake, pukka looking carp. Trouble is they fight too hard! lol

i think giving the fish a name is in order , how about the the big half lin!!, in standing with hurst tradition??

Nice name.......not......

think i might have caught this one at about 25 a couple of years ago......

the captor has first choice of the name and I keep meaning to ring ricky and ask him - however I think the fish should be called "Cracker" personally. It certainly is one and goes with the fact it was caught at Christmas.....

if anyone has a better idea let me know... and lew - if you have a picture of the fish at 25 then can you send me a copy - will be useful for something i am putting together

Dave_M

if it aint named it will just be refered to by its appearance , hence the big half lin http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/tongue.gif how about lews fish? http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/blush.gif http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/blush.gif

it's been called "cracker" - spoke to Ricky last night and he'd come up with the same idea so that is that.....

Had a sudden thought last night that it may be a FP fish from the isle of white we stocked 3 years ago around the 16lb mark but may have to check the photos - if I can find them !!!!

Was this fish caught on Fusion or FU2 ?
Initial reports said Fusion but RMC report stated FU2 . It's nice to know what they have a taste for !

I believe it was said as Fusion in error and was actually caught on FU2.......an apology for the mistake has gone up on the site somewhere...! http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/blush.gif

FU2.

yeah my fault http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/blush.gif http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/blush.gif - initially overheard as fusion but in reality found out was fu2 when speaking to ricky since...apology initially appeared on thread on general carp board about fusion....

as for what they like - well sandy fish seem to enjoy a varied diet with the aforementioned FU2 along with active 8, active maple 8, essential b5, fake maize, maggots and various fluoro pop ups all taking fish in recent weeks...... http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/wink.gif

3 more fish around 27 - 28 mark out over the last week or so along with a few other fish - though i suspect it'll slow up even further if the cold weather currently forecasted turns up at the weekend.... http://www.rmcangling.co.uk/forum/images/graemlins/frown.gif
