Is anybody out there clued up about barometrics?
or more specificaly how the pressure affects fishes behaviour, ie in high pressure do fish (carp) feel more comfortable at the top or the bottom and would they be more or less inclined to feed?.. i think it might have something to do with the water content of the fish itself...hmm
and is there some link between lunar cycles and pressure??
Andy little seems to be the only person that records this sort of bumf in his articles
It may not be critical but if it gives you the edge ????

barometric pressure..i am no expert however the lunar cycle thingey..some people dismiss it..but i really do think there is something in it u know.very few captures on a full moon however a good percentage on a new moon (totally black) with the other phases being as productive as each other (first quarter, last quarter) allways makes me feel more confident fishing on a new moon, however Ian (chippy) did open my eyes to the catching potential of the harvest moon ..a full moon around the october time...not sure exactly when this year..but looking back i have had some big hits on this moon.so i think it is a case of draw your own conclusions.

There is a thread on the coarse angling board about the pressure and the weather.... I posted on there that I think that the weather conditions that come with high or low pressure have more of an influence of feeding behavior... as for the moon, the gravitational pull is always stronger on a full or new moon hense spring tides.... the strongest is in april and late september so this harvest moon thing may be a real factor.

Interesting stuff, have u ever tried to tally your catches against a fishing predictor?
I know it sounds daft but its a bit of shareware u can get from from zdnet .com or cnet .co.uk (something like that ) it basically attempts to predict based on lunar phases ?
u have to work out your long. and latitude.
who says i'm going to far .. i'm not obsessed..honest
