How much potential do they have in getting any bigger, obviously we have seen a growth spurt in the last ten years.
Is there any precedent set in other countries e.g is the record weight size that different between the UK and somewhere like France or Spain.
I am asking as a water I used to fish as a lad used to have very large tench, it was only about 2 acres but had no carp and an abundance of natural food. My understanding is this place is no longer fished and so potentially could hold some monsters.

I think Tench have been caught in Europe to 20 lb /images/forum/icons/tongue.gif I have a book at home which gives some details.....I'll try and remember to have a look tonight......after I've been bitten to pieces by the mossies down at Summer Pit this evening.

Good luck with the Pit. There is a nice pic of a 4lb crucian in this weeks Mail that came out of there to a supposed novice.

9 oz lighter ? I thought it was only 6 oz lighter when it had been caught previously ?

How was Adrian able to recognize it straightaway ? Only asking so I know what to look for if I get a decent Crucian as it would be interesting to know how frequently these fish are being caught.

Maybe the fish should be retired if it gets caught too regularly like some were saying about the carp on another thread, lol

Is this crucian a mug fish? Just joking chaps.
