Other Species at the Green

If anyone is thinking of trying for a different species next season why not give the pits at Fishers Green a go.
In recent seasons Gary Newland and I have had some great fish, 6lbEels,10lb+Tench and Bream.
After the first few weeks of the season the pits are are very nearly empty of anglers and there is never a problem getting a swim.
The pits are not easy, but with a bit of hard work the rewards are very worthwhile.

Got any tips for us then Bob I would love a ten pound Tench.Hooks Marsh does look fantastic up there but where to start with all those features.Mind you with you living quiet close we could get you to bait up for us,we could also let you take the photos.

You only have to ask Ian or Gary about my photography, 3 different cameras and only 1 picture of Garys big Chub catch.
If you are interested we could have a walk round in the close season and I will point out some of the better places on the pits.

Hi guys,

Any chance of another stray tagging along? I've fished the river for many years (living close by) but when I've tried the pits I've not had much luck.

I'd be interested in swapping ideas on how to tackle them!

I'm intending to put some serious time in on Pit 2 this year, if you want any info about Hooks Marsh send me a private mail and I'll gladly pass on any info, I fished the place along with a couple of friends quite entensivly for bream/tench for a few years in the early nineties.
