Hi,
Do you have to be over 18 to join a syndicate?

It depends on the lake mate, some won't allow anglers under the age of 16 to fish at night alone, more for the safety of the angler, if you are under 18 I would suggest you fish at night with a mate, unless you are some kind of machette wielding gorilla.
Quite seriously there are some ******s out there who'll threaten you and nick your tackle so be careful.
Hi,
I looked in the guide book and it says you have to be over 18 to fish nights is this true or is it different for yateley.
I am going to fish spilt lake what age do you have to be?
James
How are you mate?
Like you 2 years ago I was desperate to fish a syndicate ticket on the yatley venue but as I was only 14 i had no option but to just fish the day ticket permit until i teant 16. however this did not mean that i ddnt catch as on the right day you have just as much chance as i did of catching fish as what you would fishing a night or nights. if i was you i would concentrate on building my tackle up like i did and use you time really getting to know the waters on the complex and in a coule of years you will be old enough to fish the night syndicate with a lot of usefull knoledge that will stand you in good stead for the future.
good luck mate

Keeping it real
Hi lofte,
I agree with you. I do very well during the day and have got alot of fish on the bank. But i think night fishing can be very productive and i am fishing the split lake now and want to fish a weekend.
i am at the moment builting my tackle up i am just going to buy a rod and reel for a marker float setup.
Thanks
James
James
you are wright night fishing can be very prouctive but why do you think this is? i personally think that it is because there is no disturbance being caused on the bank and your not into minds as whether to bring it in a recast as you cannot see where it going to land if you did. stick wth it mate and im sure when your old enough your be tearing the lakes apart
Keeping it real Lofte
P.s Whjat does everyone else think about night fishing being more productive do you aggree or not? why?
The reason why night fishing is productive is that the fish feel more secure in the dark..... it is the same in trout fishing, if there is a ripple or cloud cover the fish feed better. The fish will also move into the margins as there isn't s reflection on the water of swaying trees, birds, cloud passing over etc. I have found that during the day I will sit there without a touch and as soon as night draws in the fish come on the feed. This is not only carp but all species maybe except Perch and Pike although these species do also feed at night on occasion.
