View Full Version : what is your water
what is or are your faviorite waters
The Tynhersh complex next to the chertsey lake.
Hi,
My favirote lake is the split lake at yateley.
James
i thought those lakes were called twynersh. have they changed the name?
last time i was there we fished the first lake on the right. it is classed as a match lake, but we took some nice fish (including the lake record with a 26lb8oz mirror). this was about three years ago, and if those fish are still in that lake they would be well worth going for. the regulars weren't very happy - started casting over our lines. very strange...
Horton Church Lake, The Yateley complex, Kingsmead 1, Frimley Pits 3 & 4, Linch Hill bascially all true English fish waters.
Keep it real.

Thanks for the correct spelling Paul would kill me if he knew I spelt it wrong all this time. that fish you caught grew to 29lb it has been moved now to pit two along with most of the big fish from the lake.

Sam
Manor is a nice lake but I don't like the people last time I went there I was surface fishing most people had been there all week and I turned up for a day session I travelled god knows how many miles and the time it took to get there seemed like a season had past. we had to leave at 3am in the morning as we turned up I could already hear the laughs and comments I then went surface fishing in a little bay where I once saw Matt Hayes fish in a video almost straight away the fish were on the bait the fish were huge to me at the time this is back when I had a PB of 12lb and these fish were around 35lb+ but then the real carp anglers moved in they started feeding up the fish and I watched them slowly follow a trail of floaters to where they were fishing that made me so mad but I made up for it with some cracking rudd weighing around 2lb but that was my opinon of the water I have not seen the water for about two years.
Alex,
I always fish into the windward bank then all the carpys feed into you swim /images/forum/icons/smile.gif, seriously, though... the best place to fish is into the windward bank. If the fish are not there they will be sooner or later
Tony

River Avon or River Lea because you just never know whats coming next
River carper Do you know much about the Lea in the Herts region around Stanborough lakes? Im asking this because my dad plays golf at a golf club nearby and it has a stretch of the lea running through it. Ive been round there a couple of times and seen loads of carp in the margins. We asked if I could fish it and one of the green keepers said he could get me to fish it and that some of the staff fish it and have caugh loads of fish. Anyway I just wanted to know how big the carp go around that area and what the average size is.
Cheers Mike

The river Lea does fish to low thirties so there is no reason why there should not be fish to that size.Loads of mid doubles. If you've never caught a river carp you will be surprised how hard theses fight.Want me to come along and give you a hand with these golf course fish.
Sure just make sure you bring a good shelter from the flying balls!
I hope I can get on there because the fish are virtually unfished for.

Exciting .
Darenth - there are some really bug fish in there now!!
does white vane contain french carp then?!?!??
cheers
Dan
Maybe not french, but shall we say non-english origins!
I know of the place and the fish are very dubious.
thats a shame as i was supposed to start fishing white vane this season with a few mates, but if it is full of french carp then i would rather not
cheers
Dan
Are Bug fish the ones with the bugs? Diseases etc?
Tony
Whitevane is a nice water and I have never heard of these rumors about non-English carp the owner has never mentioned any thing to me when I have asked about the fish what does it matter if there are a few french carp in the water Darenth is full of them I can tell you this the guy who runs whitevane is honest so make sure things are true before you spread rumors he has worked hard with whitevane and he does stock his waters with good fish I can tell you that commen is most likly to be English but it is no good asking me what the water is like I only fished it once in the winter but I know from what I have heard from regulars and the owner.
I have fished both whitevane and furnace (owned by the same people) for a long time now, & know the owner fairly well. I must agree that he is a very nice guy, however he is a business man not a fisherman and he is running those complexes purely to make money. If that means stocking imported carp then that MAY be what has happened in this situation.
For those that know the new lake that has been built at furnace, carp and catfish up to 47lbs have been stocked. Unless you are Richard Branson, there are many more affordable ways of getting hold of these fish??
AND WHO KNOWS HOW MUCH LONGER WHITEVANE WILL BE WITH US???????
