Just visited the site and very good it is too, especially the rigs section, some great tips on there.

You could try using 35-45lb quicksilver for fishing lives or deads this is very abraision resistent but it wont stop you getting bitten off for pike. This season i have starting using snakebite gold for boilies and other static bottom baits the resuilts look favourable,i had cats of 12 and 16lb the other week with no noticable wear on the hooklink, both cats where hooked in the inside of the mouth.A longer term review is needed because i lost a good cat on 25lb snakeskin last year, this is the multistrand version which was warn through during the fight. If you are going to continue using deads try hair rigging them or with lives tie a small bait holding hook perhaps a size 8 onto your trace then whip this knotless style to the back of your larger hook. This may contravene club rules and be deemed as a two hook rig so check first. This can be overcome by replacing the small hook with a sharpened clip link.Beekay do a successful catfishing series book by kevin maddocks which is worth a look although a little dated (my own opinion)
