Being a single minded carp angler for many years I was wondering how cold can it get before Chub stop feeding.Even if we have had 3 or 4 freezing nights will they still feed.I fancy Fishers Green on saturday but could I be wasting my time travelling all the way there from Hastings.
I have caught chub in colder conditions than this.... we have only had one cold night so far... the water temperature in a moving river wont drastically drop till all the snow melts... If I could go I would.. alternatively try the tidal medway, tidal waters are always warmer than inland ones.

I've had chub on half sardines when the chelmer had ice in the margins so I don't think cold bothers them at all.
Stillwater chub feed in the real cold so,as rivers make them more active...they must be feeding?!
Try sardine pieces or paste,(made with Ritchworths big fish/carp Mix).
Be lucky!
