Am I correct in believing that the lakes at Frimley are "spring fed" or is it due to the water table being so near the surface that the old pits (I am sure some of them were still being used in the '70's) filled with water.
Just got back from a 8hr session on pit 1.
PB common at 17:4 and a mirror 17:2
4 bream to 7:7
male tench 5:2
Not a bad first session of the spring!
Before i got started I thought I would have a quick look at pit 4.
First thing I saw, 5 carp all 20+ (including a fully scaled mirror) no more than a rods length out all busy getting it on!
Oh! I nearly forgot, The bailif told me that 'Gums' was out of pit 3 this mornig at 33Ib !

Both the Bream and the carp are spawning on pit4.Take your glasses and have a walk round.
The fishing has been slow due to this and I've had more liners in the last 36 hours than is good for your health. One or to people were astonished at the liners I was getting thinking they were proper takes.
I've just got back from Frimley and the carp in pit 3 are definately 'getting it on'. The line bites were so frequent and violent that I switched my alarms off - the bobbins were smacking into the rods and five yards of line was being ripped off the spools. I stopped fishing pit 3 after a couple of hours as I didn't think I would catch anything & I kept reeling in bits of weed that were covered in eggs. I think that my time would be better spent in the pub trying to do some spawning myself! /images/forum/icons/wink.gif

Having fished pit 4 a couple of times in the last month I have only ever seen the same 3 bailiffs fishing and heard of two more who occasionally fish it.So I don't know where you get the figure of 10 from.
When I spoke to the head bailiff Mark Davis he said the most people he had ever seen night fishing pit 4 was 5 people.
And by the way I am not a bailiff.
The reason you don't see normal fishers on pit 4 is because they can't be bothered to fish it and are happily catching fish from the other 3 pits on the complex.Pit 4 is a bit big for them and not so easy to catch fish from.
Come and say hello next time you see me fishing and introduce your self Claus. You can't miss me I'm the big ugly one with the beard.

Oh and by the way it was so busy with bailiffs on saturday that I was the only one fishing all 25 acres of pit 4.Unless they were all hiding in the bushes.
could one of these trips viewing the '10 or so bailiffs' have been the specimen group fish in?

How do you think all the imports get in to the country,it's only a short hop from Hastings to the tunnel.
Sounds like a good idea, although I have already hatched my own plot to get amognst the lakes larger residents. Heard a good common came out last week!

why do friends of baliffs get the nod on night fishing when you are not suppose to night fish

but why should friends of baliffs get the nod but every other frimley ticket holder not, that is a bit out of order considering they are just normal ticket holders
