Well I have finished trying to win one of those xmas competitions that you see in the mags and I have been looking at the snow out of the window and wondering if the lakes are frozen and I am now trying to decide what to do fishing wise. I spose i could clean my rod bag which still has mud all over it from the last session, same applies to my wellies and two piece as I am not the tidiest of mums lol
I think that as soon as I can I will go and look at a couple of waters that I am thinking of having a go at soon and maybe visit my bait man to see what tasty new ideas he has to tempt the fish with once i start again.
What are you others doing fishing wise at the moment? Are your waters frozen yet? Have you decided which waters to fish next season and what methods you will use to attack them with?
Heres wishing you all a very happy new year and a sack full too,
Andy
There is only one thing to do in this weather and that is fish for Chub. /images/forum/icons/smile.gif

you could always get in your car, spin thru 270 degrees and end up in someones front garden...!
an effortlessly graceful bazza-on-ice...

Take the cooker, some eggs, bacon, mushroom and beans go down the Green.
Fish for Pike at the bottom end of the Relief and enjoy a good fry-up.
Happy New Year.

Make sure you have a brick on a rope.......... My local lakes are all frozen :(
Tony
unfortunately it was black (doesn't get you drunk but helps you stack your car) ice...!
Hi all, after a dodgy drive down in the snow I walked around Kingsmead and Wraysbury2 this afternoon.
I did a bit of plummin', but wished I'd brought the rest of my gear with me as all of my local (Northamptonshire) waters are frozen over.
As for next season, I still haven't made up my mind.
HNY,
Gaffer.
Andy,
Not much to do down the road, it's all iced over...was going to try for that Pike.....but I think it may be iced over for some time...they said on the weatherreport that it will be -9c tonight! Maybe I'll let you know when the big thaw starts & save you travelling all this way to find the lake frozen.
Simon.

Andy
Well I intend to be fishing new years I can get drunk any day of the week but fishing comes once a week in the winter I have not been for two weeks and it is driving me crazy so I looked at the weather and decided tomorrow I will go out in search of a thirty or just a fish would be nice. Ice has brought me luck for two years once at beaver farm and at bushy on the heron so lets hope I get lucky. Have a happy new years!!!
