Come on boys, dont be so protective. Im only asking if they are moving about yet, and if the waters clearing!
Spence
Alright IOW SPENCE,
Is was down there yesterday, and oh yes they are moving about!
Me and a couple of mates who also fish there, saw about 12 in the church bay, one of these was the peach, and its looking every bit of 40lb. The rest were stockies but 3 of them looked very big, so hopefully 1or2 could brake 30 this season.
We then walked round to the dog (barking) bay.
Got up a few trees, and there they were!! About 40 fish all sitting around the bay, the main one we spotted was shoulders, its the first time i`ve seen shoulders in the water, and it looks absolutly awesome!!, i`ve never seen a wider fish in all me years (all 20 of them!) A fantastic sight, a massive magnificant beast, alot of stockies were there, with a few of the other originals, including woodcarving, wallace, and 5 commons.
Then as we walked past, the parrot stuck its head out!!
So yes they are on the move.
And yes the water is slowly clearing up.

Just to let you know, a mate was down there yesterday, and he said the water has cleared up big style!!..
Good show..
he said when up a tree he could see down about 7-8 foot, but then it just gets to dark, to see anything.

Spence
I don`t know when they spawn, but if they do there probably not far off, but i can`t be sure.
Hopefully they won`t start during the opening week. that could seriously mess things up!!....
See you sunday
Dave
If you have a thermometer, a water one I mean.... keep an eye on the water temps.... when it hits 68F it will start..... you need to check the shallower water temps and not the depths. I would think we need another couple of weeks of sun yet.... sometimes it's not till July/August that the carp spawn.

I hate to say it Tony but the last 4 lakes I've looked at this week all have the carp spawning.
The water temperature must be up then Neil, My friends lake they are spawning as well but he has extensive shallows in his. I am quite surprised to be honest as the hot weather aiont been here for that long......
Tony
they are getting ready in kingsmead 1 by the looks of it. within the next week i reckon.
i noticed that the water clarity of church lake has been improving, but since saturday it is like a different lake! the clarity is astonishing, like tap water at the moment. it's so clear that you can see little balls of tails up pro-liver in nearly every swim! now i wonder who that could be?
