Upton on Severn.. strange place for a barbel to live seeing as there is ****** all flow there.. remember fishing a match there going back years ago now and tried to run a stick float through.. and you literally couldnt as it was so slow on that section.. so much for barbel loving fast flowing rivers with eddies etc..

nice fish though even if they are slightly bad pictures.. barbel looks mahoosive :) and moggies in the severn? whats all that about

Forget the idea that barbel are always in streamy water, me and some mates have been doing a bit of river carping in virtually static areas and have been picking them up, much better average size too

moggies in the severn, theres a lake about 10-20 yards away from the severn that contained several cats so im guessing they came from there during the bad floods we had, there defently there as last winter there was 2 found dead by some lock gates

Upton isn't too far downstream from the noted big barbel stretches just below Worcester.

There is normally plenty of flow around Upton too.

Lovely fish, but seriously, standing up with it?

I'm not one for mentioning these things generally, but a 16lb barbel is an incredible fish...

Aweful quality picture, he's holding it like he's about to run off with it, all the clutter around the swim, he's standing up with the fish....need i go on?

Ohh, and it has nothing to do with the subject of this thread.

2 german flags too :dissapoint:

LOL.

Seriously though, if that fish has a kick out, there's a good chance it'll get dropped. A little wreakless to me.

I dont like the word but what a noddy!!! how careless can you get playing with the fish like its a 1lb perch its out of order! Im sure the stretch fished is private and not day ticket would love to hear what the club/syndi would have to say about a fish being handled like that for some silly I want to be famous youtube video!!
