I have today been told that my local R.Yare, is now mostly salt water all the way to Norwich. Also that this has forced most of the fish away from thier traditional areas. Does anyone know of similar happening to other rivers? Or could they confirm above, as this would be a great pity if true.

with the slow but gradual rise of sea levels, and the slowing down of river flow due to water abstraction or drier weather, the position at which fresh water meets salt water will move further up the river. Norfolk is also experiencing a slight sinking due to much of the land having been reclaimed and drained for agricultural purposes now sucumbing to rising sea levels and saline intrusion.
can't speak personally about the Yare though!

Also, the east is sinking and the west rising as a result of the weight of the ice from the last ice age going. Ah, the wonders of geological time frame.

Reedham maybe.

Salt tides may reach Buckenham on a flood, further at the right time of year.

Slow ingress isnt an issue, fish sense it and move accordingley, its flood tides that are the problem.

Disappearing act more like, at the rate some of the coastline is going. Happening all along the eastern coast.
