Im not entinrely, sure on depths of margins, but its a gr8 place to place a hookbaits, as in most swims the r margin features, with good chance of a fish, so always have a rod in around the margins,

It realy depends on the swim and the features on the margin, or out more in the water, alot of the open water swims tend to be fished over gravel bars, adn in the back of the lake its just fish to snags,( i prefer that), but best thing is when u turn up on te lake, have a god walk around and see for yourself

Best bet is to have a good look round, they will show themselves at that time of year. The snags always hold fish, but there are plenty of other area's that hold as many.
As for the margins, last summer i caught a load in 18 inches of water under some overhanging branches, that they were in and out of. If you find them you'll catch.
You'll enjoy it, its a cracking fishery.

I fished Pva bags of mixed sized pellets on both rods. One rod was fished on HBS trout pellet bottom hookbaits (cut in half) and the other rod on plastic corn, had takes on both.
Small bags of pellet though, and then every couple of hours a small amount of pellet fired out in the catty to keep the fish stirred up and looking.
