Went down for a look round today and it looks really nice. Anyone any ideas about how to tackle it for the carp?? Will go and have a quick go tomorrow morning i think.
Cheers in advance, Andy

the bream have got big appitites at the moment and are
eating every thing!
try single hook bait to those likely looking spots round
the island
the weathers in your favour get down early and have wonder round the back bay via the sunken barges bound to see
some movement ,drop a few goodies in some spots as you
go ,pop back later to see if any thing has occurd,it can be
a bit hardgoing at times but stick at it!
they are about
good luck.....................

I was chatting to a blokey today down there and he warned me about fishing the island margins. He said they are festooned with line, leads etc so not to cast near them.
I saw a chap fishing the car park swim and he had a bream a cast on bread. The barge swim, where is that? I walked past the horses field and then the path seemed to stop, is it a long walk from the car park as my sessions are limited to four hours or so in the mornings only?
Cheers Dave,

too true ,the islands a bit messy at times with line etc
however you dont need to be to close (in my opinion)
theres a popular gravel shelf which gets a lot of attention
a needs a good accurate cast .hence the line etc
any way ,the back bay yes over by the horse field
you`ll see an old propane cylinder as a marker for a sunken
barge
also futher round you go you`ll see a sticky-out lump of metal
`T kind of shape, just visible shape of a barge round it
does not get hardly any anglers round the back bay as
its a bit of a treck from the carpark, youll have the bay to
yourself......
the bbq swim is a good bet this time of year its the one
as the entrance to the back bay with the short cast to the opposite side and smaller island to your right
chuck a few boilies in for me

Awwww, that's my spot by the barge,,,,,, I went there over the weekend and baited it up. That's for the bream though.... /images/forum/icons/smile.gif If you want bream there Andy try something meaty....

Went down there today for three and a half hours and kept getting little pulls on a boilie so i switched it for a piece of plastic corn. lol I had 27 bream all around three to four pounds each and all on the same piece of plastic corn lol. Nutty session or what. I might go back with some bread etc and see how many i can catch properly.
I didnt see any carp though, it was very grey and quite breezy and cold though.
Andy, private me and tell me where you was fishing, I bet it was one of the swims I have been baiting /images/forum/icons/smile.gif

YEEEEEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAH LOL
Just got back from Shepperton where I had the most beautiful carp I have ever caught. It was a lovely 27.12 Leney looking mirror, all conker coloured with great big plate scales and yellows and golds. Lervely jerbbly lol
Balanced flake was the bait and i moved it out of the way of some smaller ones a couple of times before the big one took it.
Right I am off to float around the flat for a while before i go get the kids lol
Nice one, after all them bream, you got what you was waiting for.
Sounds like a real peach mate.
Again a massive well done
Superb!

Well done Andy.
I'm looking forward to seeing the photos IF they appear on the site.
Looks like you have caught what a lot of people want...................a British Carp and a good looking one to boot.
Congratulations, the weight is immaterial for fish like this.

Cheers for the comments peeps. Just wish I had taken the video but I left it at home to cut down on the weight i was carrying so i could wander around more. Never mind hey. Now I am trying to decide whether to send off my film as i normally do in the post or to spend a bit more of the banks money and get them done quicker through one of them shops. Blimey decisions decisions lol

Cash
I would imaging it originally came from the Thames maybe cash. I am not sure on the stocking history of shepperton. Maybe Ian can enlighten us. Oh yeahh by the way there is an RMC record chub in there or used to be, I lost it one day at the net fishing for pike on a small spinner and it was absolutely huge. Well over 7lbs
Tony
Andy,
Excellent, it is indeed a beautiful looking fish.
