Has anyone have any report for the River Chelmer from last season?
Had lots of small chub, plus some carp which weren't so small. Also tons of bream and a few boilie eating pike!

Anyone know the rules for fishing from a boat on the Chelmer? I assume you need a permit from Paper Mill Lock to use the boat on the river (thinking a BIC 245 sort of size with a electric engine), and a Rod License?
Any thing else from stopping you attaching your self to the bank and just fishing?
Will be nice to get to some remote places that i can no longer be arsed to walk to.

You'll also need a permit from which ever clubs control the sections you want to fish as well I believe.
Riparian ownership and I think, fishing rights will be to the centre of the river bed.
I've got the permits already as i've been fishing from the bank for years. Will the law still emply i'm not allowed to fish from afloat near private banks? Say i wanted to fish a weir that has a Mill house attached. Could i anchor up on the far bank to fish the weir even if the club has no access?

You will need permission from the riparian owner to fish, even if navigation is allowed.
Just pitch up and wait for the "Get off my land!" shout :)
