But for really good stories of pike over 35lbs (and how it really is) then its got to be Mega Pike the Return.

And the book includes not one but TWO of 39lbs

(But then i may be a bit bias LOL.!! )

Big water and Mega Pike are both good.

As is PAC30 and Harpers Broadland Pike.

Having both, Mega Pike is a better read than Dennis Moules and your Fenland Pike, good though it is. My opinion of course.

S'fair enough Paul, everyones opinions differ and at least you have the two to compare. :)

I did like the Fenland history bit. Having done a fair bit of wildfowling on the 'Washes' back in the late 80' and early 90's, and having a few books on fowling in the area I have something of a liking for the flat lands.
Ernie James' life story 'Fenland Tiger' is a good read.

In all fairness to Mark and Denis' book, Fenland Pike really is a fantastic read as well, i know when i picked mine up, when i got it back home (even tho it was 10pm ish) i couldnt put it down and read it cover to cover!!

Again, a proper piking book that tells it how it is as well as interesting facts about the fens.

(i'd have read it quicker if i'd had Fenland six fingered hands LOL)..

For me, Dave Horton's "Ultimate Pike" and John Watson's "A Pikers Progress" (or the updated "A Piker's Progression") are the best two pike books I have read.

Mick "The Duke " Browns book is a good read and some cracking photo's.Also "Watto's" book is good also.

But their are plenty to go for,as others have suggested.Roll on the Autumn:thumbs:

I have them all and can't really say which I like the best of all. Mega Pike the return is a great read but my advice would be go for the PAC 30. Not only a great all around read but the profit goes to support an organisation that fights the Pikers and the Pikes corner.
