View Full Version : Fishers Green Lakes - Tench Fishing
I am planning to do a lot of Tench fishing on The Fishers Green Lakes this season. I managed a few at the end of last season to 7:12 lb but have heard that it has produced fish up to 12:00 lb. Can anybody give me any pointers as to where the bigger fish tend to turn up and the best baits to use.
Cheers,
Rob.
Rob, what lake have you been fishing, 7.12 is still a big tench from the Green so it sounds as though youre on the right lines anyway
Hi Andy,
I was fishing lake 1 last season (the one joined to hooks marsh). I Ledgered baits out towards the island margins in the swims along the path from the hooks marsh car park up to the fishers Green rest area. I used natural popped up corn or Ritchworth frozen Tuttis for all of the fish. I have been told that lake 2 (Holyfield lake?) is a bit of a tough one to crack but i dont know if the anglers that i spoke to were after the carp, they were not giving much away.
Lake2 is rumoured to be tough for the carp, but I'm not so sure about the tench, the problem is the amount of bank you can fish with the RMC ticket, it does look extremely fishy though. I hope to have a few tench fishing sessions on there myself in the summer.
