Think it's privately run nowadays but I don't know anything more, I did well and moved on while Cemex still had it.
Just find a venue that you'd imagine to hold a few lumps and do your own thing mate, you can still pioneer waters in pike fishing and the rewards are there if you use your head and are patient
NOt so much given up Adrain more got rid of due to it not making any money, this is a business after all.
Jones pit is awsome for pike as we found out when we surveyed it as is Wharf pool, although syndicates they are full of big pike with a lot of 20's taken in the survey work.

I've got a feeling that there are probably one or two surprises in the North as well Roo

Twyford ;)
i'll second that . i cut my pike teeth over there in the early eighties and was definately the reason i got into piking . shame cemex lost it , the loddon on the same ticket was a good venue as well

Weirpool, far bank swim? ;)
Nursery? Looks like it could hold a beast but I dont know whats in there pike wise.
Horton is easily one of the best....
k1 in its heyday about 20 years ago. even before then, when parsons had all those large pike from horton etc before all the bunds were in place. there was a scraper 40 netted from dog kennel bay back in 1984 or 1985 i think. all detailed in fred bullers book....
thats the benefit of trout pens on a pit full of ravenous predators....

In it's heyday it did a few up to mid 20's but it was a case of wading through many many jacks.
Don't forget it was drained and no notable pike were seen at that time so anything in there now has grown from a relative tiddler in a relatively short space of time.
The Car Park lake was a much better pike lake but it suffered a pike kill and the stocks went down hill fast, they could be coming back but would you pay to find out?
I heard when the North was drained & netted that Viv found 2 or 3 x 20+ pike. Which were returned to the North.
Not true??

There are a load of jacks in there martin, I'll give you that but a half decent female was lost at the net recently on a pop up, my mate was also sat in main works a few weeks back when a duckling was nabbed from the margins by a fish that looked half decent (he saw it's tail) and this is only hearsay but there are rumours of a mid 20 during the day ticket period.
