View Full Version : Halibut Pellets
Part-time coarse fisher query. I understand halibut pellets are bonzer bait for barbel and carp, but the ones I have seen in tackle shops look like gobstoppers. How do you hook 'em ? Too big for bait bands and too hard to side hook. Nut drill then hair rig ? All advice welcome.

why not give HEATHROW BAIT SERVICES a ring on 02088982508 bearing in mind mobile dialing codes have changed or 0956847706 home . The adress is 20 ,Winchester rd ,Hanworth, Middx, tw135jy.
The ones i have had made are 14 mm, but he will make any size you require. These are pop ups or bottom baits and look ,smell just like the real thing. The prices are very reasonable £6.00 a pot including p&p.You can get better deals if you by larger amounts.Only had time to use them once had a 12lb cat on them fished snowman style at Jimmys two weeks ago .They match hinders 14mm betaine pellets perfectly, hope this is some help.
i use hallibut pellets and the best way is to hair rig them or i have banded them before.
i also agree, the heathrow bait services pellets are wicked as well.
cheers

if you put the pellet in a piece of stocking and tie it off,you can then mount it on a hair just like you would do normally.if the pellet cracks or brakes in half it dosn't matter because it can't go anywhere.

halibut pellets will last for at least 10 hours before they break down so unless you have your hook bait in the wrong place
they should not need netting
Thanks for the ideas, guys.
