At least they are not killing them. Reading it though makes me laugh, sounds like Cornwall is still living in the 19th century.

I dont understand the 'non-native species' remark. Where have these pike apparently come from?! The headline is a bit sensationalist as well but what do you expect from the Beeb?

Strangely Cornwall did not have many coarse fish - chub, pike, dace, etc -- until recent years. All I believe introduced.

I have seen a picture of a 9lb 'chub' from a Cornish river - it was a grass carp!

take out all the pike and be left with a fishery full of stunted fish. remove some jacks if therr are that many but create a balance by leaving the bigger pike in there.
