Oh just so you know....if I am out on my boat and i see your fishing......sadly my anchor may fall off the back (its prone to doing that) and snag your lines, i do apologise

i always phone the environment agency on these idiots , why should us who abide by the laws allow those others to get away with it ?

I do hope so , pooter ! If that's what the guy meant then sorry . But I would of mentioned eel fishing in my thread starter so as not to give ppl the wrong idea .
Does 'eel' fishing really stand up? There are so few of them in the Thames (or most other rivers) these days, I can't believe anyone would really target them.

It's about as valid as "trout" fishing!
I still think abolishing the closed season would be the best answer for many reasons, but until then we're stuck with the shambles we've got.
