View Full Version : Fishers Green - Barbel
Hi,
Just to let everyone know i've finialy landed my first ever Barbel - (10lb 2oz of pure power!!.), from Fishers Green.
It hasn't been easy, but after a dozen or so trips in all conditions it has finialy payed off.
Has anyone else been catching?
I'll be back tomorrow for another crack...

Well done! I have never had a barbel but there again Ive only fished for them a couple of times. I need someone who knows how to catch them to show me lol
Congratulations Paul, well worth the effort no doubt. Well done mate

Super fish Paul, well done - what an excellent start too. You'll be hooked (no pun intended) now !
A few of us have a trip planned for FG over the next couple of weeks, so it's nice to hear that it's still fishing well.
Did you manage to get any pics ?
Bill.
Hi Bill,
Luckily my brother was with me so he run off a few pics on me new 'eos' and his digital aswell. The pics on his digital look good, hopefully the 'eos' pics will be ok (only had it a week, xmas present)

Hi Paul,
The river is looking lovely and has droped over a foot since my last session there.
Also the pace of the river is slowing making prsenting a bait a little easier.
Good luck on friday, might even be there myself in the afternoon.

Well done Paulm,
As the river clears the Chub fishing will pick up,dont forget many of the big catches are made by the float and maggot approach.
These catches are not often reported by a secret section of the membership.
Best of luck

Hi Ian
I had a quick couple of hours at FG on Tuesday morning (19th). Managed to tempt a 5lb barbel out just on the bend above the Bailey(?) bridge.
Lovely conditions, mild, overcast with a fair bit of colour in the water. I fished curry flavoured luncheon meat over a few handfuls of hemp.
Classic bite, a few small taps on the rod tip, then a little tug, (which I left) then wallop! a nice pull round.
