I haven`t been back to the North Lake since the end of the season and I know Little Jon saw Bazil during that time (and very nearly caught him ) . Has anyone been looking around this spring and if so have you seen the big boy or any of his mates

Come on lads. I can`t believe none of you have seen anything this spring. Keeping it to yourselfs are you (good angling! ).If you are mooching around (and i know you are Nigel!) how is Baz looking? still high forties after spending the spring munching little Jons pellets i bet. What about Scale? still fat as ever, close on forty i bet. Crinkle, looking mid thirtie still? Mr Crofts 29 from the Autumn,(why aren`t you on the web Simon!) Pretty one 27 last time out, roll on June 1st!
Come on Baaazzziiilll!!! who`ll be first with the shout?

Thanks for that Richard. I hate being out of touch with the water during the spring. Interested to note it is still coloured as the start last year was very poor and the water at that time was very coloured.
Hiya Paul
Sorry to not reply sooner, been away for a while. I have indeed been putting a little effort into the North lake, mid last week I finally found Bazil, Scale and a twenty mirror in ********** !!!! (nice try) and spent five very enjoyable hours feeding them, at one point I was lying down with my face over the water and Baz came underneath me and almost brushed my nose with her dorsal, AWSOME !! Now I have seen Baz on unlucky 13 times on the bank, and spent 117 nights so far after her, and at no point in that time have my confidence sacks dripped like this !!!!!! COME ON BAZIIIIIILLLLLLL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Keep it real !!! Keep it British !!!!
Orphan,
Nice story and good luck. Sounds like it's about time that Bazil was yours.
Miller.
Cheers Miller
It's been a two year break for me from the North lake, but it's time for me to return home !!!!
Keep it real !!! Keep it British !!!!
Orphan,
That must have been an unreal experience, lets hope that Baz is kind to a few of us this year.
I've heard that Scale is looking 40+ and Crinkle is looking 36+??
Be lucky

Ah Nigel, i wondered where you`d been!
Got a close encounter did ya, nice one mate. Do you know spookily Bazil has been caught 13 times since he became my obsession but i`ve only been present on 4 of those occasions. It`s a strange feeling when that shout goes out mate isn`t it. I just hope and pray the old carp gods will smile on me this year .
Catch you for the draw and mate you might as well tell me where you saw him as you know as well as i do he wont be there opening night.
Keep it real chap
Paul.
just remember the sugar Paul!!!
Paul
I'll be there for the draw, can't wait to drop a line back in the North after all this time. Well lets hope that the number thirteen is lucky for us for a change, hopefully we will be looking at her in a new light this year, i.e. in our net as apposed to someone elses !!!!!
Roll on June the first, and good luck to all (although to be selfish for once, a little better luck to me !!!)
Keep it real !!! Keep it British !!!!

No problem with that mate. We all have to be a little selfish when it comes to Bazil!
While fishing the Split Lake I was able to witness Basil,Scale and two other whackers mooch around about a foot away from me.I feel quite honoured, and am amazed at my first ever sighting of these fish in the flesh.I'm even beginning to understand the draw of the 'headbanging' North lake!
Whoever it was,(forgot to ask your name),that pointed them out and invited me round for a look..........Thanks!

7 days to go till the draw and only 10 days till that magical moment when the first rods will be cast out for the start of a new season, I CAN'T WAIT !!!!!
COME ON BAZZILLLLLLLLLLLL !!!!!!
Keep it real !!! Keep it British !!!!

We've payed our dues!
See all of you Monday.
Paul.
Sorry, can't control myself here, it's like being ten again and waiting for my pocket money so I can run down the tackle shop and buy a bag of Tuties !! God please let this next week go fast, I don't think I have looked forward to a season as much as this for many many years, Bazil, watch your back !!!!
Good luck to all in the draw and I'll see you all Monday for the usual banter and p**s taking.
Keep it real !!! Keep it British !!!!

i did drink your tea with sweetners Paul, but there comes a time in life when you have to bite the bullet and be honest. Sweetners in tea are f*****g horrible!!!! I don't know how I survived last summer!!!!!
See ya on Monday!

Keeping it Real!!!!
Smarts,
rumour has it she sometimes gets caught while the church bells are ringing. Not sure what time that is - probably early morning.
Your chance to do a little research.
Well done Simon!
