I know i should have posted this on the carp site, but i would like some opinions for a good quality groundbait for carp,. Maybe from some of you match guys. Afterall you guys seem to know far more about groundbaits than alot of us "carp boyz" do.
Cheers for any advice...MAXIMUS

Maximus,
DT baits do a carp groundbait, add equal parts of 2mm Trout pellets, Brown sugar,Magic groundbait, Brown crumb and odds and sods (casters, corn, dead maggots).
Ball it up and freeze it, carp can be a real pain when you are after Tench or Bream as I found out at Walthamstow a few years ago.
Have a chat to the match lads at your local tackle shop, I'm sure they will put you right.

Fishmeals,(a bream favourite, too!),crushed and whole pellets, crushed hemp,(carp love it and the groundbait becomes 'active' which puts the bream off a bit),and any other particle you want including helpings of vitalin etc....
Most of the commercial groundbaits are good and are geared toward summer use in general with large particles included such as flaked maize.
I like Dynamite Baits Marine Pellet groundbait which is more or less crushed and powdered pellet, but with additives etc....ready to go.To this I add crushed boilies and whole pellets including breakdown ones.Instead of just water to mix.....add various dips etc....to fine tune it to how you want.
I aim to get Hinder's 'A' mix this summer in bulk which is crused nuts,(ouch!),and add various bits and bobs to this.
A groundbait that myself and fishing friends had great catches on when it came out,is the Sensas 3000 carp, you can't mix it wrong!

I have found a good mix for the "Mr Crabtree" type carp fisherman, seeking good sport with up to medium sized fish, is 60% Vitalin dog food or equivalent, 20% white or brown crumb and 20% of the red Van Den Eynde stillwater mix. Take the meaty and biscuity bits out of the Vitalin and soak overnight, they will turn to jelly. Mix the rest of the Vitalin, crumb and VdE into balls with some sweetcorn juice, soaking juice from the bits and lake water. Liberally add sweetcorn, carp pellets and chopped luncheon meat, and the crushed up Vitalin meaty and biscuity bits. Loosefeed over the top of the groundbait as well with pellets and corn.
