i do a lot of bathroom fitting and customers keep asking me to take pictures of thier bathrooms for my portfolio
the problem is most bathrooms are so small that you cant get far enough away to get the whole room in so i end up with 3 or 4 pics of individual things . someone has mentioned a goldfish bowl lense wich gives a a rounded view anyone got one of these, would it do the job, how much is one, or is someone on the wind up? or has anyone got any advise or other methods for my dilema   thanks in advance dan

well if you have an SLR camera you would need at the very least a very wide angled lens to give you any chance at all.

A fisheye lens will give you a wide perspective but can sometimes look a bit too distorted. Do a google search for fisheye lenses and you'll see what i mean.
I've got an aspherical wide angle for my Nikon 11-16mm which although wide keeps lines straight unlike what a fish-eye lens will give you. But obviously this'd be the expensive option.
One other option you can consider is to take multiple pictures then use Windows Live Photo Gallery to stitch them together. The results are pretty good tbh and will probably give you what you want without splashing out mega bucks on a Dslr & lens.
check the link for an example & download link.

or if you want to do 360 degree shots have a look at something like this software

I'd go with the Windows App though as it's free! lol

i cant work out how to put a picture on here! so dont know if a tecnophobe like me could work out how to merge those pics together i use a fine pix 3000 at the moment for my fishing, pics are great with that, but i am looking to up grade in the near future, are the lenses mentioned above specialist type lenses or can i buy a camera with that type? obviously any camera i get needs to be idiot proof anyway so:thumbs: can anyone recomend a slr type with the old flip round screen and remote that is also capable of the bathroom pics

Some mobile phones let you take panaramic shots. You take one picture then line up the next where it ends and so on. Works well actually. You can then bluetooth to the photo machine in boots or plug it in your computer.

that sounds realistic with my limited ability:nuts: BUT i tried to take a picture of a plane the other day whilst fishin and could hardly see the sky:lol: as my phone is just full of dust and scatched to **** . im due an upgrade shortly but doubt it will be any good after a couple of weeks for photos:bonk:

take your time and have a go, the 7 year old in the advert does it ok ;)
it actually is pretty straight forward tbh. You just take the pictures, stick them in the software and it does the rest.
As an alternative to a pricey lens, I'm sure there's software out there that will let you take two or three pictures, then stitch them together into one panoramic image. Where's Singy when you need him?
Hippy you haven't actually read whats been posted have you lol!
Either that or there's an echo :-)

looks like the best option wish me luck:o
cheers for the advise fellas apart from you gayry
There's a lot of different programmes out there that let you stitch you photo's together. Personally, I find it easy using Adobe Illustrator and doing it manually.
some of the kodak cameras have a stitching mode
