I was thinking of fishing at Shepperton some time but I have heard rumours that the 36lber that is mentioned on the RMC venues page has died along with a couple of others. Can anyone tell me a little about the place?? Please?

I have fished shepperton more than any other RMC venue except Newdigate. I haven't fished it for Carp but have seen some nice ones in there. It is connected to the thames so you can never tell what is in there at any given time. I know by chatting to people that it is a hard venue and you do get a lot of pleasrue anglers there as it is relatively easy to fish for the silver fish and pike. Sorry I can't give you much more on that but as I say I aint fished it before for carp.

I fished papercourt at the start of the season and it is a very hard carp water it is big with a small stock of carp very weedy and about 20 foot deep to top that off you have a boat club who like to smash up anglers with their boats but the people who fish the water are really nice and their is some big carp in the water going on 32lb+ there is also a nice stock of huge tench I only had one fish from the lake and it was an 8lb 4oz tench the best bait is probably mainline's the grange or activ8. Good luck.

Oh thanks for that, I think I will have to go and have a look to see if the place appeals to me. I am not worried about it being hard as Wraysbury 2 was soooooo difficult when I fished it years ago and some of the other lakes Ive fished over the years mean that I am quite at home blanking lol. Anyone else know whats in Papercourt??

Papercourt has produced a few double figure Bream and plenty of Tench over 10 lb this year. Some very keen Tench anglers are now starting to take an interest in the place.
Some of the bank near to the floating pontoons, will be out of bounds from next season, due to some anglers casting into the chains anchoring the pontoons.

I really dont know whether Mick is dead but I have heard from two different people that the fish was found in the margins and that the parks people came and took it away.

PS I also heard that Mick came out a couple of weeks ago at 39 something so who knows??

Thanks for the info, i have also been told of a couple of lads who have fished this lake over the years so i will make further enquiries and see what i can find out. A good walk round with the camera will also help i reckon.
