Peter,
Shows firstly how extreme these people's views are, and secondly how stupid their views are?

It was actually a restaurant that bought imported meat from South America that was responsible, unfortunately some people will always do this to make a quick buck as the meat is so much cheaper. With the disease so rife in South america and Africa it makes you wonder why people will do this though.
Still no excuse for PETA though and what a ridiculous statement to make, do they really have the animals best interests at heart or do they just like to make trouble?

I think Angling itself should be targeting the kids. I would like to see some of the manufacturers, instaed of sponsoring the 'stars' and match teams, load a mini bus with a dozen sets of servicable tackle and a coach and go round schools and other organiations offering a days fishing. The manufacturers could tie it in their with local dealers who could sell similar kits if the kids are interested, local clubs and fisheries could allow the use of their waters and give each kid a membership application form. Even if only a small percentage take up fishing the rest would at least learn the truth about it.
