Aqua Ultra Sleeping Bag...Conclusion
I wrote a first impressions review of the Aqua Ultra sleeping bag a couple of months ago
http://www.cemexangling.co.uk/new_site/article.php?function=view&pageid=4188&catid=1 and now it's time for my views after a few months use.
My initial worries were with it being a mummy-style bag and only having a central zip. I was concerned it would cause problems when trying to get out of the bag quickly on the rare occasion I get a take. Luckily, over the last few months I was able to put this to the test and I've got to say, all worries were cast aside as the the crash zip on the bag is faultless. It's never snagged once and slides open with ease on a quick exit.
It takes a lot of getting used to when trying to sleep because, if like me, you sleep on your side, unless the zip is done up fully your arm sticks out of the bag, which is not good on cold nights! It's not a major problem but makes things a bit more awkward than a normal side zip bag. One other minor point, on very cold nights I found the zip would be next to my face and would obviously be cold to the touch, which is a bit of a shock when you need to move!
Apart from these minor points, I have found the bag to be very, very warm and comfy, with a superb zip and great quality throughout. If you can get used to the mummy-style then the Aqua Ultra bag is highly recommended this winter.
