Carp/Bream can be caught

Fish Hard to find | Angling Diary
First Six Months
Now six months have passed since the Burghfield Match Lake has been open and CFAS are still checking for any signs of KHV. Recent visitors will have noticed the floating cage containing sentinal fish which will be removed anyday now to check for any signs that the lake is still infected. If given the all clear it will give a green light to restock and hopefully get the lake back to the level of catches that made this water famous for it's 100lb plus match winning weights. Anglers are still able to catch carp that have survived along with the many bream but although slow the fighting stamina of a hooked carp when using light tackle brings many a smile to an anglers face. Let's hope the match lake is back on form sometime soon.
